Mandatory reporting
Youth protection: any professional with reasonable grounds to believe a child's security or development is compromised must report personally and without delay. The obligation overrides professional secrecy and cannot be transferred to a colleague. Mistreatment of an older or vulnerable adult: reporting is mandatory for physical or sexual abuse and for serious mistreatment involving a person in a facility or under a protective regime. Threat to an identifiable third party: professional secrecy may be lifted to prevent an imminent serious risk of death or serious injury, disclosing only what is necessary.
